Our winders and coilers make it possible to repackage all your flexible materials on cable drums or in coils, manually or motorised depending on your needs.

Manual coilers

There are two models of manual (handle operated) coilers available:

• An economic model for coils of an interior diameter of less than 300 mm and an outer diameter of 750 mm max. (static coiling head)
• A more robust model fitted with a manual transfer bench and a static (diameter 300 mm) or variable coiling head as an option to make coils with an interior diameter of 280 to 550 mm. This model can also be fitted with a motor and protective guards

Motorised coilers and winding reels

Our line of coilers and winders combine excellent reliability, even for intensive use, reduced maintenance, easy operation and great comfort of use.

Based on a solid mechanically welded structure, they are all fitted with a meshed protective guard to fully protect operators both from dragging risks (no accessible moving parts or inner angles) and from cable whiplash following an unexpected breakage or the end of a reel. They are all certified by an independent inspection body.

Our mixed coilers and winders (coils and cable drums) are all fitted with a variable speed motor (double motorisation on the larger models).

The mixed models are all fitted as standard with swivelling handling rollers with locking cylinders, a measuring tool with a programmed decelerator and a mechanical cable cutter on the bigger models.

Capacities:

• Coil of an inner diameter of 280 to 550 mm (300 mm static or variable coiling head) for 750 to 900 mm exterior diameter
• 500 to 2,200 mm diameter cable drums.

A rewinding line is composed of a combination of an unwinder and a winder which are both motorised in order to be able to repackage flexible materials (usually cables or optical fibre) from cable drum to cable drum or to coils. The unwinders or winders can be shaft mounted, between spikes or, for the larger installations, on an overhead gantry.

Manufactured to order, capacities can range from 0.6 m to 3 m or more.

The two machine speeds can be coupled together to maintain constant cable tension and many accessories are available (automatic transfer, driven disk brake, speed regulation dolly, measurement, marking, hydraulic cable cutter, etc.)

Bouharmont proposes measuring equipment adapted to every need:

• Measuring wheel and lower counter roller models to measure cables of a diameter between 0.5 and 100 mm accurate to 1%. The wheel coating must be adapted to the measured cable (single or double striped metal wheel, polyurethane coated wheel or other specific materials for very slippery cables)
• 5 decade counters that display the dm before reset
• Some models also have double selection counters capable of driving a cable laying deceleration system when the end of a reel is reached
• Electronic digital display counter and double pre-selection
• High precision band model (0.02% with standard cable) up to a diameter of 50 mm with manual or motorised drive (with an optional automatic cutting unit)

Bouharmont proposes an optimised cutting tool for every need: electric wire or cable, optical fibre, media cables (telephone, computer network, audio/video), steel cable, miscellaneous ropes (mountain, water sports, other sports, …), plastic or reinforced sheaths (vehicle or bicycle type), tubes or plastic piping (watering, compressed air, perfusion, …), plastic or rubber strips, etc.

Combined upstream with our unwinding and measuring machines and downstream with specific equipment (stripping, tip crimping, threading, shaping, welding, etc.) and/or suitable packaging equipment (marking, winding, coiling, bagging, etc.) we can cater to all your issues covering the length of your materials.

Our automatic threaders are used to pre-fabricate electric and/or hydraulic harnesses for the construction sector (threading of electric wires and hydraulic tubes in corrugated ducts).

In fact, pre-fabricated harnesses known as “octopus cables” for new builds or refurbishment have many advantages:

• A significant reduction in qualified labour costs on the work site
• Big time-savings on the second fix
• Reduced risk of copper theft from the work site
• Optimised cable and duct consumption

As a result, prefabricated electric and hydraulic octopuses are increasingly common. This prefabrication can be manual but productivity is mediocre and the work is repetitive and unpleasant (with risks of MSD).

The automatic FMD 860 or semi-automatic FMD 850 threaders provide up to 60% higher productivity or even more with one operator for two machines.  The operations to complete are highly simplified:

• Feed the wires, cables or tubes to thread from a dispenser
• Feed the corrugated duct on the other side from a high capacity dispenser (multi-format system)
• Use a touch screen to programme the length to thread or retrieve the information from CAD software
• Launch the machine cycle to automatically complete the threading of the required lengths (up to 40 m) at high speed with automatic cutting and winding of the prefabricated duct coil in a bowl
• All the operator needs to do is collect the pre-wired ducts.

• Possibility of threading flexible wires with a rigid earth guide wire
• Threading into standardised IEC 16, 20, 25, 32 and 40 mm ducts

• Coiling speed of the threaded sheath in the coiling bowl up to 50 m/min
• Automatic duct and wire (or tube) cutting with excess length folded back onto the duct (except for tubes)
